The chances for rain and severe thunderstorms remain for our TGIF event today. Current predictions for “isolated storms” are around 50%. With this is mind, let’s cancel golf and plan on Happy Hour starting at 5:30 PM and buffet at 6:00 PM.
If you plan on attending the buffet and haven’t yet done so, please call the Starr restaurant by 3:00 PM today and let them know how many in your party will be attending.
“Bummer” about golf but still hope to see many River Run folks tonight for our final 2018 TGIF buffet.

The weather forecast for the final TGIF of 2018 scheduled for tomorrow,11/2/18,includes possible thunderstorms beginning in the afternoon. Please stay in touch with your emails tomorrow from the RR HOA website and a decision will be made with as much notice as possible concerning golf. Currently not many golfers have signed up so we do invite additional players. The $20.00 buffet will remain scheduled regardless of the weather or the number of people signed up for the buffet. If golf is cancelled, Starr Happy Hour will start at 5:30 PM and the buffet will start at 6:00 PM.
Remember, the entire RR Community is invited to the buffet whether you play golf or not!
Let’s end the 2018 TGIF season with lots of food and drink with friends.

Our next TGIF will be held on Friday, November 2ndh 2018 with a 3:30 pm shotgun start. If you would like to play, sign up by Tuesday, Oct. 30th, and show up promptly at 3:00 pm. Your names will be separated into ABCD players (by handicaps), and teams will then be randomly drawn. If there are not enough A players, some teams may have 2 B players or any other combination which will equalize the field as closely as possible. We will play a nine-hole scramble. TGIF is open to all River Run Golf members and homeowners.
You may bring guests, but your team will not be entered into the tournament unless separated into ABCD as above. There is a $5 entry fee for golf for members, $10 for non-members. Prizes will be credits in the Pro Shop. Sign up in the Pro Shop for golf (410-641-7200). Your signup must be received by the Pro shop by Tuesday, Oct. 30th. Late signups can prevent Bob Beckelman from arranging competitive teams.

If you wish to come to dinner you must call the Starr Restaurant to make a reservation (410-641-6500). Your reservation must be received by Starr by 4:00 pm Tuesday, Oct. 30th.

River Run Golf Committee
The previously reported date of 6/16/18 for the River Run Member/Invitational
Tournament has been changed to Saturday 8/18/18. Additional information
concerning breakfast, pairings, tee times and dinner to be forwarded.
Hopefully this change does not inconvenience anyone and the Golf Committee is
looking forward to a strong turnout.

Once again we will be conducting a Match Play Tournament during the 2018 golf season. Hopefully everyone is getting their game in shape for the summer season and the most enjoyable way to see just how sharp your game is would be to participate in a fun, match play event.
We will use the same format as last year. The tournament will be open to anyone wishing to enter and we will have separate brackets for Ladies and Men assuming we have sufficient entries. All you need to enter is a verifiable USGA handicap (if you don’t have one the pro shop can explain how easy it is to establish one) and the $25 entry fee. Just take both to the pro shop, sign up and you’re in. We will establish one or more brackets depending on the number of entries received with no more than 16 players per bracket.
Men will be able to play from the white, gold, blue or black tees but the handicap from the white tees must be used and ladies may play from any tees but must use their handicap from the red tees. Players may NOT switch tees during the round. Also, players do NOT have to play from the same set of tees. For instance, if player A wants to play the blue tees and player B the white tees, they are welcome to do so but the handicap is based on both playing the white tees.
Non-members will be responsible for their cart rental and greens fees at a reduced rate.
There will be 2 weeks, beginning May 26, for each match to be played, 100% of handicaps will be used and prizes in the form of pro shop credits will be awarded in each round of each bracket. All entry fees will be awarded as prizes. This is an opportunity, with the use of handicaps, for everyone to have a chance to not only enjoy some friendly competition but also to have a realistic chance for success.
