Deadline to sign-up for RR Men’s Match Play Tourney

River Run Golf Club and the Golf Committee will be hosting a Men’s Match Play Tournament during the 2023 golf season.  The tournament will be for River Run golf club members and River Run residents. Your USGA handicap is needed to enter the tournament. If you don’t have a handicap, the pro shop can explain how easy it is to establish one. The entry fee for the tournament is $40.00 and can be dropped off along with your registration at the Pro Shop. Depending on the number of entries, the tournament will move forward and the pairings will be provided in advance of the June 19th start date.  All entries must be received by June 12th.

You will have 2 weeks to complete each Match Play Round. It is customary that the lower handicap golfer in each match call his opponent in order to set up the match date and time. Scorecards for each match will be provided by the Pro Shop, and once a match is coordinated, players are to call the Pro Shop for a tee time.

Play will be from the white,  gold, blue or black tees, but the handicap from the gold tees will be used for all play. Players may NOT switch tees during the round. Also, players do NOT have to play from the same set of tees. For example, if player A wants to play the blue tees and player B the white tees, they are welcome to do so, but the handicap is based on both playing the gold tees. Pro Shop Gift Certificates will be rewarded for each win in each bracket.

This is an opportunity, with the use of handicaps, for everyone to have a chance to not only enjoy some friendly competition, but also to have a realistic chance for success. Further updates will be provided as needed.
