Now that the threat of a tornado has passed, I can come out of the closet where I was hiding and schedule our first Divot Doctor session of the year. For those of you who don’t know what Divot Doctors do, here’s the Dope!  Divots are the ugly little holes dug into the golf course fairways created when a golfer uses a particular club. After a while they appear all over and change the scenery from green to brown. So, volunteer residents go out in our golf carts or a borrowed one from the cart barn and fill a bucket with sand from the sand pile to fill the hole. We meet about once every 2 weeks or so for 1 hour and fill those ugly divots with sand using all sorts of original scoopers. If a small group shows up, we only can do 2-3 holes but when 20 appear we can do 6-7. Now you may think this is hard work, but it’s more of a social gathering because we gab while we work and pretty soon the time flies by. Meanwhile, we help to keep the course pretty and you get to greet and meet new neighbors. After all, we live here and appreciate the view!
